CARDIOVASCULAR PROCEDURES

Regarding cardiovascular diagnostic nuclear medicine methods, the following ones listed below have been included. First pass ventriculography,  myocardial perfusion spect with Thallium and F-18 FDG Myocardial spect are employed less frequently. As far as first pass, mainly due to progress in competing modalities like echocardiography less costly and cumbersome. In the case of thallium, due to cost and cyclotron availabilty. Regarding FDG SPECT with high energy collimators due to myocardial imaging based on PET and 18F-FDG, which has greater spatial resolution and better image quality.
