- Low fat diet in previous 24 h.

- Three hours prior to injection give, 250 mg of acipimox and 350 mg of acetyl salicylic acid orally. Repeat acipimox 250 mg, 1.5 h prior to 18F-FDG .

- A meal containing 75 g carbohydrate is given 1.5 h prior to the injection of 18F-FDG, after a minimum of 4 h of fasting.

- Only patients with BGL less than 160 mg/dl are injected.

- If BGL > 160 mg/dl, inject iv regular insuline according to the formula:

Insuline Dose = BGL(mg/dl)-50 / 25 and wait 45 min.
