ADENOSINE

            The following aspects need to considered for a safe administration. Install an iv line with saline infusion to run during the whole procedure. Make sure the needle is in the vein lumen to avoid infiltration. Standard ECG stress monitoring by cardiologist is essential. Administer adenosine at 140 ug/kg/min  from 0-6th min. Inject the radiotracer at min 4th of adenosine start.

            In high-risk patients  use an infusion graduate starting with  50 μ g / kg / min for 1 minute, followed by  75, 100 and 140 mg / kg / min for next 3 minutes. Inject the radiotracer and continue to drip adenosine at  140 g / kg / min for three more minutes.

            Begin spect acquisition 15 min after finishing with the stress phase.
