SPECT Stress/Rest Tc-99m sestamibi. Radiation Doses
The table shows the radiation absorved doses of most important tissues for 99mTc Sestamibi, expressed in Rad or mGray per mCi or MBq, respectively. It also displays the adult effective dose in terms of Rem or mSv per mCi or MBq, respectively. Note that the critical organ is the Gallbladder. Assuming a one day protocol, if a dose of 10 mCi or 370 MBq is injected at stress in the morning, then the effective dose would be of 0,29 Rem or 2,9 mSv, respectively. If a dose of 30 mCi or 1110 MBq is injected at rest in the afternoon, then the effective dose would be of 0,99 Rem or 9,99 mSv, respectively. Total dose for both studies would be 1,28 Rem or 12,89 mSv.
