Female 24 y/o underwent total thyroidectomy on april 7th 2016, biopsy confirmed localized papillary oncocitic carcinoma. She was started on 125 ug of thyroxine per day. On june 8th 2016, 3.7 GBq were administered orally after using im Thyrogen 0.9 mg 48 h and 24 h before the radioiodine.
Anterior neck (A) and thoracic (B) views show 3 foci of I-131 uptake probably due to remnant tissue in the thyroid bed (black arrow). Note, Mid Thoracic irregulas uptake, less intense. Spect-CT fusion imagesĀ in (C) and (D) slices, depict anterior localization of the tracer, corresponding to Thymus (yellow arrow).
