            One year old female with history of lower gastrointestinal bleeding. At center sequence of 9 anterior images taken in the first 30 min after injection of the 99m-Tc pertechnectate. Both right and left lateral views were obtained as well. Blood pool activity, stomach and bladder have marked uptake. Liver and kidneys are slightly visualized. No focal abdominal images were seen. Patient was prepared with iv ranitidine  1 h before the acquisition.

            Radionuclide scintigraphy is the only method to detect nonivasively the presence of ectopic gastric mucosa in the remaining  omphalomesenteric duct. Those bleeding diverticula are the ones with gastric mucosa.
