Patient Preparation
- Nothing "per os" 4 h before 99mTc injection.
- Use ranitidine 1 mg/kg i.v. (maximum 50 mg), infused over 20 min and start imaging one hr later. Alternatively 150 mg p.o. is also adequate.
- Also consider omeprazole 1 mg/kg/day either intravenously or p.o. 1-2 h previous to 99m Tc administration.
- Likewise, consider lansoprazole 1.5 mg/kg/day either intravenously or p.o. 1-2 h previous to 99m Tc administration.
