International (Radiological) Classification
 

                                 

 

Scintigraphic VUR is classified as mild, moderate and severe. In the International Classification, there are 5 grades. GI the ureter is seen with contrast material halfway (mild). In GII up to the kidney without dilation. GIII the same plus dilation (II and III moderate). GIV includes moderate dilation and tortuosity. GV severe dilation and tortuosity including the pyelocalyceal system (IV and V severe).
