This is a 16 year old male, with history of urinary tract infections. Above, note activity in both kidneys remaining from the intravenous DTPA injection, moderate in the left and quite diminished in the right kidney. The right one is smaller, due to previous infections and scarring. Previous DMSA scan proved 20% relative function in the right kidney and 80% in the left side (not shown). The bladder fills up and empties well in both micturition episodes. Mild to moderate VUR in the right ureter and pelvis (arrows), (Grade I-II in the International Radiological Classifiction) in the two procedures. Below, ultrasound shows a normal left kidney and volume decreased in the right side.
