Boy 7 y/o presented with abdominal pain and hematuria. Ultrasound showed prominent pelvochalyceal system. A DTPA renogram was requested, to rule out significant pyeloureteral stenosis. A: In the perfusion phase, normal sized kidneys are seen with symmetric blood flow. Red region of interest and curve for right kidney, the black ones are for left kidney,  whereas the blue ones are for the aorta. B: The glomerular filtration phase, depicts adequate uptake and prompt excretion into the bladder. Response to diuretic at 15 min was normal. Faint visualization of ureters. Last frame with mild parenchymal retention. Red region of interest and curve for right kidney, the black ones are for left kidney,  whereas the green ones are for the background. Differential function was as follows, RK = 43%   LK = 57%.

Current use of DTPA Renogram is mostly for obstructive uropathy and renovascular hypertension.
