99mTc-MAG-3 Renal Size, Shape and Position Assessment
Male, 6 month old with dilation of both excretory systems. In the right hand side, see echo, with dilation in the left pelvocalyceal system (arrow). There is a slight hypotonia of left renal pelvis (anteroposterior diameter reaches 5.1 mm) and system, . The distal ureter in this side presents dilation as well, reaching a diameter of 1.24 cm anteroposterior.
Patient was assessed by means of 99mTc-MAG-3 diuretic renogram. Note normal sized kidneys having excellent perfusion and uptake, symmetrically. There is dilation of pelvocalyceal systems and ureters in the two organs, up to the uretero-vesical insertion, with good functional response to frusemide. Likewise, note a suggestion of double system in the left side and vesicoureteric reflux to the inferior one, with retention up to the end of acquisition.
