-  Patient should fast for 8 h.

-  Only patients with BGL less than 200 mg/dl are injected.

-  If BGL > 200 mg/dl, inject iv regular insulin according to the formula:

        Insulin Dose = BGL(mg/dl)-50 / 25 and wait 45 min.

Note that muscle and heart uptake will increase and may limit malignant cells detection.

A better alternative is to reschedule the patient after optimal diabetes control.
