ABNORMAL BRAIN THALLIUM SPECT DUE TO TUMOR RECURRENCE

Note tracer activity in the frontal left brain hemisphere (arrows). This a 35 year old male operated on 5 months ago of Glyoblastoma. In this case 201-Thallium Chloride  crossed the hemato-encephalic barrier, and concentrated in the area of recurrence. In the left side spect transaxial slice. In the right side the saggital view. 18-F-FDG PET-CT may be used as well. But Thallium and 99mTc-Sestamibi have the advantage of not marking the normal tissue brain.
