TRODAT NORMAL IMAGES

In a normal subject, it can be seen intense uptake in striatal substance in the basal nuclei. Slight asymmetry of uptake can be found in the striatum. There is also relative good uptake both in anterior and posterior striatum. Minimun activity in the surrounding brain in transaxial slice (with permission www.alasbimnjournal.cl). Using a template it could be possible to assess the caudate and putamen for quantitative indexes (1).

Quantitative parameters may be obtained from normal subjects, but are not reproducible or discriminant enough to be of help in the evaluation of individual cases (2-4). Therefore, visual assessment alone can be used in clinical practice.
