Female, 42 year old with right breast carcinoma already operated on and bearing brain, bone and liver metastasis.  Presents with large lymphnodes in the right axilla. PET-CT shows intense FDG concentration in the right axilla (A, B and C),  multiple mediastinal and lung metastasis (C) and several liver lesions especially in the right lobe (D).

Murakami R et al evaluated forty-seven patients with recurrent breast cancer with FDG  PET/CT.  "The overall sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value, and accuracy of PET/CT were 96%, 91%, 92%, 95%, and 94%, respectively.  PET/CT appears to be an effective surveillance tool, as it is able to cover the whole body in a single procedure and shows good performance."
