1    Follow specific manual instructions prepared by the manufacturer.

2    Anterior projection obtained supine with legs flected on the "ad hoc" cubic device.

4    In skinny patients it will be necessary to cover with rice bags the area to be scanned in order to better detect borders and calculate the soft and bone tissue components. In a hip case performed with and without rice, BMD was lower in 5% using the rice bag.
