18 y/o, male, complains of leg pain. View of both legs. Blood pool and delay images show linear uptake increase in the cortical aspects of tibia iin the two sides. Rest of exam was normal.n the two sides. Rest of exam was normal.
Bone scan  is an excellent procedure to depict the inflammatory process in shin splints with a linear appearance. Tibial stress fracture is more focal, oval or fusiform. These findings are useful to make a differential diagnosis and correct therapy.
