Bone Scan UNILATERAL SACROILEITIS
Male 9 y/o, complains of low back pain being referred for a bone scan with diagnosis of spondylitis. Arrow points to increase uptake in the left scroiliac joint. MR performed afterwards was consistent with sacroileitis (yellow arrow points to the lesion).
Bone scan allows to assess the whole body and so detect areas of focal MDP uptake which later on may be followed by anatomic and more specific imaging, to get a precise diagnosis.
