Female, 61 y/o with bone and joint pain. Seen by an internist requested in september 2010 a bone scan (not shown), which depicted a small hot spot in posterior parietal left bone. In april 2011 a CT (right hand side) was normal. Se underwent a follow up bone scan which demonstrated no changes but the same skull increased focal area (left hand side).
This is a not an unfrequent finding and especially in patients with malignant tumors may prompt performing ancillary examinations to rule out extension lesions. The origin of this finding is not clear.
