PET FDG NORMAL IMAGES
Female, 20 year old, underwent a PET FDG whole body examination as part of workup for fever of unknown origin. The study was done with 14 mCi, injecting with BGL of 88 mg/dL. The result was a normal pet. Note homogeneous uptake and papillary muscles. Anatomical position without reorientation.
FDG studies are the gold standard for myocardial viability, especially in CAD. Normal glucose metabolism is an excellent marker of cell integrity. PET has replaced Spect for myocardial evaluation with FDG.
