SPECT THALLIUM Normal IMAGES
Female 56 y/o,
referred to rule-out CAD previous to abdominal surgery. Note homogeneous uptake
both at stress (pharmacologic) and resting images. Polar maps are also
homogeneous with no significant reversibility focal areas.
A normal myocardial perfusion spect has a high Negative Predictive Value to
rule-out ischemia due to CAD.
The probability of having a main cardiac event is similar to the normal
population, i.e. less than 1% per year.
In this situation the patient prognosis is excellent.
