Acquisition

-  Use gammacamera with paralell high resolution or all purpose collimator for imaging.

-  Obtain a dynamic study for 90 min with 10-60 sec frames every 15 min.

-  Alternatively 5 min sequential static images over 90 min maybe adequate as well.

The experience of Dolezal et al. is interesting, they use spect and dynamic acquisition to detect small bowel bleeding. They have correctly diagnosed 20/26 cases with 75% exact localization in the first 3 h after injection. Those incorrectly located ccurred when delay images (more than 18 h) were obtained (3). This may be explained by labeled blood moving away from the exact bleeding site.
