- Prostate-specific membrane antigen is a transmembranous, cell surface protein with a significantly increased expression in prostate cancer cells when compared to other PSMA-expressing tissues such as kidney, small intestine, lacrimal glands, salivary glands, liver, spleen and parasympathetic ganglia.
