MIBG Drug Interference

MIBG is a structural analogue of norepinephrine:

                -  It has Type I uptake into the adrenal medulla cells

                -  Active transport into the chromaffin granules.

                -  Any drug interfering in these 2 mechanisms may affect its uptake.

                -  Likewise, any drug displacing catecholamines from within the cell, may decrease MIBG accummulation.
