Quantification of left to right shunts is important to make a decision regarding therapy. If Qp:Qs is over 1.6 probably surgery or an angioplastic device implant like the amplatzer is recommended. The conditions associated to this type of shunt are the followings:
- Atrial Septal Defect
- Ductus Arteriosus
- Anomalous Vein Drainage
